In 1999, the meeting between Luc Rebelles, a saxophonist, and Fred Malle gave birth to the group 'LuniksProject'. Against the current of an electro-jazz scene influenced by acid-jazz, 'Luniksproject' resolutely engages in the path of improvisation, following in the footsteps of free-jazz. Supported by sound engineer Philippe Teissier du Cros, then welcomed on Gérard Terronès' label 'Marge Futura', the duo multiplied collaborations in Berlin and Paris. These multiple machine-improviser confrontations, with these guest artists - bassists François Méchali, Jean Jacques Avenel, Olivier Sens, Jean Paul Céléa - drummers Christian Lété, François Laizeau, Cyril Atef - give rise to a technical problem that will give birth to 'Lagvoid' in 2007.

A contre-courant d’une scène electro-jazz influencée par l’acid-jazz, ‘Luniksproject’ s’engage résolument vers la voie de l’improvisation, dans les traces du free-jazz. Soutenu par l’ingénieur du son Philippe Teissier du Cros, puis accueilli sur le label ‘Marge Futura’ de Gérard Terronès, le duo multiplie les collaborations à Berlin et Paris. Ces multiples confrontations machine-improvisateur, avec ces artistes invités – les contrebassistes François Méchali, Jean Jacques Avenel, Olivier Sens, Jean Paul Céléa – les batteurs Christian Lété, François Laizeau, Cyril Atef – font émerger une problématique technique qui va donner naissance à ‘Lagvoid’ en 2007.
